“Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Miami.”. These were the sweet words that came over the airplane intercom. Just like that, I was back in the U.S. Even more interesting are the events that took place before and after this announcement.

If you’ve read my about page you’d know that I’m currently living in Brazil. People love to practice their English with me and as it turns out, I love helping people with their English.
About a month or so ago I was sitting at my desk at work when all of a sudden I got a gtalk message from a friend of mine working in another part of the building. “Micah, what is the meaning of ‘going down’?”. My first response was, “You’re kidding right?”. “No, what does it mean?”. I was a little caught off guard. It was just such a random message to receive. (more…)

I thought my whole life was over. I was cut from basketball try-outs for the third year in a row. Now I’d never get that college scholarship. I could kiss the NBA goodbye. There go my hopes and dreams, out the window.

I was having a discussion with a friend of mine last night. We were talking about how people can twist their interpretation of the Bible to suit their personal needs and beliefs.
My opinion is that now days people can turn any action they see fit, into a sin. She mentioned that she had heard a sermon about whether or not certain actions are sins. The main idea of this sermon was: if an action is not in the Bible, then it’s up to you to decide if you should do this action or not. This makes perfect sense, but at the same time it doesn’t.
